Visit CROWN Scout Girls BasketballSince 2008, CROWN Scout Girls and Chris Smalling have built the Chris Smalling Girls Basketball Tournament into the most-watched girls' basketball weekend on the Canadian calendar. Every autumn, junior and senior high school and prep programs travel from across Canada, Europe, and the United States to compete on the same hardwood.
What sets this tournament apart isn't just the level of play — it's who's in the stands. No event in the country draws a deeper bench of university and college scouts, making every possession a chance to be seen by the people who matter most.
Held across two campuses in Oshawa, the tournament pairs championship-caliber competition with a cause: every ticket sold helps stock local food banks.
The tournament takes over Durham Region each autumn. Senior divisions play at the shared Durham College and Ontario Tech University campus in Oshawa, and Junior divisions split their games between Oshawa and Father Leo J. Austin in Whitby.

The second host campus, providing additional courts to keep every division's bracket moving on schedule all weekend long.
A third host site added to the rotation, giving the tournament even more court space across the weekend.
The tournament runs every year in late autumn. The 2026 edition runs Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 1, 2026.

The food donation discount is available at the gate only. Tickets bought online are the standard price ($20 Day Pass, $50 Weekend Pass) and can’t include the discounted rate.
